New York —Bravo Media will enter the scripted arena in 2013
with two fictional projects in development as part of an overall 27%
increase in original programming, the NBCUniversal outlet said
in upfront announcements.
Scripted series include 22 Birthdays, about the scandalous activities
of a group of parents at an exclusive private school, with
each episode centering on a lavish birthday party. Blowing Sunshine,
from creator Jason Ning (90210, BurnNotice) follows the staff
and high-profile patients at a fictional private rehabilitation center.
The network also green-lighted 11 new unscripted series. They
include: Silicon Valley, starring Internet entrepreneur Randi Zuckerberg;
Huh?, which goes inside the icanhascheezburger.com office; Below Deck, about the young, single crew of a luxurious
mega-yacht; Top Chef spinoff Life After Top Chef; SUR, about
Lisa Vanderpump’s (The RealHousewives of Beverly Hills) Hollywood
restaurant and lounge; Miss Advised, about three relationship
experts who struggle on the dating scene; and Newlyweds:
The First Year.
Returning series include Flipping Out, Tabatha Takes Over, Million
Dollar Decorators, Top Chef Masters, Million Dollar Listing
Los Angeles, Chef Roble & Co. and Pregnant in Heels, in addition to
longstanding interview show Inside the Actors Studio.
