Bravo’s Final 'Runway' Premiere Struts Best

Project Runway began its final strut for Bravo in fine ratings fashion.

The Weinstein Co.-produced reality series, which is moving to Lifetime this fall, garnered 2.9 million viewers in its July 16 fifth-season debut, the highest series premiere ever in the network’s history. The Heidi Klum-hosted show also had the network's highest delivery among adults 18 to 49 (1.81 million) and total viewers (2.92 million) during its new Wednesday 9 p.m.-10 p.m.time period.

The Weinstein Co. in April reached a reported five-year, $150 million deal with Lifetime for distribution of Project Runway, but Bravo is suing Weinstein over the deal, saying the companydid not honor NBC Universal's and Bravo's right of first refusal before signing a deal with any other company for new seasons of the show.

Two other Bravo reality series set personal ratings records last week -- house-flipping series Flipping Out drew more than 1 million viewers for the first time during its July 14 episode, while the July 15 episode of hairstyling competition series Sheer Genius 2 became the fifth Bravo series to break the 2 million mark. 


The others: Queer Eye For The Straight Guy, Top Chef,Project Runway, and The Real Housewives of Orange County.
