Bresnan Taps Motorola for Upgrades

It looks like Motorola Inc. is going to help Bresnan Communications upgrade
its mountain-region cable systems.

The two companies announced plans for the upgrades Tuesday. Motorola will
supply its optical-transmission and radio-frequency products and
project-management support for Bresnan's two-year building project, which will
upgrade about 3,000 miles of network in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah.

Once complete, the upgrades will allow Bresnan to offer services such as
high-speed Internet access to more than 90 percent of its customers.

Bresnan closed its $525 million deal to buy the former AT&T Broadband
mountain cable systems from Comcast Corp. in March. The systems serve about
314,000 subscribers.
