Comcast Corp. has added American-Muslim network Bridges TV to its lineup in southeast Michigan, the two parties said Tuesday.
The Detroit-area launch marks the network’s cable debut.
“It seems fitting that Detroit is the first cable market to carry Bridges TV since it is here where the idea was born and initial research was done," Bridges TV CEO and founder Muzzammil Hassan said in a prepared statement.
"Muslims in the Detroit area are doing so much for their city,” he added. “Through the support of Comcast Cable [Communications Inc.] and the forum of Bridges TV, we can share the stories of service and accomplishments of Detroit Muslims with our entire nation.”
Comcast serves more than 1.4 million customers in Michigan.
