Orders 3 More Pilots

USA Network,

is bringing
back new
episodes of
stalwarts
Psych (Nov.
10) and
Burn Notice
(Nov. 11) this week, continues
its quest for the next
series big things.

Ad-supported cable’s top
network has given cast-contingent
pickups to three new
original pilots: Eden, Wild
Card
and Over/Under.

They join Common Law,
Necessary Roughness (starring
Callie Thorne, pictured)
and A Legal Mind, bringing
the “characters” network’s
total pilot order to six — its
largest ever within one year.

Eden (Universal Cable
Productions) looks at young
a hotel worker who gets
a job at an elite New York
City hotel with the help of
his con artist cousin. Over/
Under
(Fox Television Studios)
tracks the doings of a
fi red day trader and his photographer
wife who retreat
to a neighborhood on the
cusp of gentrifi cation. Wild
Card
(Fox) is a procedural
set in Las Vegas, where two
lawyers solve the problems
of people behaving badly in
Sin City.

Of Midterm Elections

NEW YORK — Fox News Channel
topped
the cable
networks
in primetime
election
coverage Tuesday night, drawing
a total audience of nearly 7
million from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.,
according to fast data from
Nielsen.

The longstanding cable
news leader averaged 6.96
million viewers, followed by
CNN’s 2.42 million viewers and
MSNBC’s 1.95 million.

In the news networks’ target
demographic of adults ages 25
to 54, Fox News counted 2.43
million viewers, CNN 1.03 million
and MSNBC 669,000.

Fox also prevailed easily during
the 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. run-up
to the first poll closings, averaging
3.09 million total viewers
and 750,000 adults 25 to 54.
