Bright House Networks is about to make slices of Hollywood available to its customers on demand.
The cable operator has reached an agreement with IC Places for the programmer to produce an exclusive Hollywood-themed show for its Local On Demand service. Starting Jan. 20, Bright House customers will be able to call IC Places Hollywood, a weekly half-hour show featuring film critic Steven Samblis. The former initial-public- offering-analyst-turned-pundit will sit down with stars and starlets for in-depth interviews, gives instant movie reviews direct from movie theatre screenings, and takes viewers for an up-close look at the red carpet.
Samblis began his career as a stock broker, and quickly moved into the position of IPO analyst, where he was quoted in hundreds of articles in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Time and US News and World Report. In 2008, he followed his love for movies and created Instant Movie Review, which currently has 50 million viewers a month. He is also the editor in chief of IC Places' 350 city entertainment websites.

Bright House Networks also recently launched its monthly YOU On Demand specials, featuring TV personality Tony Little, which highlights viewer videos nationwide featuring funny moments, pet s, performances, and creative productions, on Local On Demand.

The company will also begin to share a selection of its most popular fitness programming, including yoga, pilates, tai chi, and workouts with all of its Local On Demand channels beginning in January. This programming joins other shows available on LOD fare, including Honky Tonk TV, The Movie Loft, Brain Fuel TV, and Premium TV.

"We are extremely excited to add IC Places Hollywood to our Local On Demand programming," said Elliott Wiser, corporate vice president, news and local programming in a statement. "Our Local On Demand offerings have proven very popular in all of our markets, and we are pleased to continue to add more viewing options for our customers. Plus, we encourage everyone to continue to upload their original videos, which could appear in an upcoming episode of YOU On Demand, to www.youondemand.com."
