Glenn Britt, chairman and CEO of Time Warner Cable, has committed to be the keynote speaker at this year's CableConnects 2004 Regional Broadband Conference & Expo.
Britt will speak on "The Power of the Platform," the theme of the convention, scheduled this year for Feb. 25-27 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Formerly known as the Texas Show, CableConnects has expanded its focus and last year drew participants from 29 states and five countries. More than 125 companies will participate on the exhibit floor.
Other industry leaders scheduled to take part include include Peter Fannon, vice president of technology policy & regulatory affairs for Panasonic/Matsushita Corp. of America, who is also the chairman of the Consumer Electronics Association's video division board; David Nathanson, vice president of broadband strategy and channel development for Fox Cable Networks Group; and Patrick Norton of TechTV, co-host and managing editor of The Screen Savers.
The CEA will host a HDTV showcase on the exhibit floor, including one of the first digital cable "plug-and-play" HDTV receivers.
Also scheduled during the meeting are several traditional social events, such as the annual golf tournament (Feb. 24) and a celebration planned at the Buckhorn Saloon.
Tribune Media Services will provide free Internet access, Microsoft Office workstations and fax service near the show floor.
