Each of those distributors got two nominations apiece for the awards, which include best children's, comedy, drama and variety content created for broadband.
Comedy picked up nominations for two programs available on its Motherload broadband portal: Baxter & McGuire, an animated series about two close friends who "just happen to be testicles," and Honesty, a live-action skein with situations in which participants say exactly what everybody is thinking.
Other cable nominees included Showtime, nominated in the variety category for Dexter Blood Spatter 101;Discovery Education for Icons of Science: Quantum Theory; and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandyfrom Cartoon Network.
For the first time this year, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences partnered with MySpace to solicit user-generated content, too. This resulted in a nomination for Satacracy 88, a weekly drama series that allows users to vote on the ending each week.
The broadband Emmys will be announced during the Daytime Creative Arts & Entertainment Emmy Awards from Hollywood June 14.
