NDS Group plc said Thursday that it has ported its “MediaHighway” middleware to Broadcom Corp.’s “BCM97398” advanced-decoder reference platform.
The two vendors said the combination is based on the MediaHighway OpenCable Application Platform middleware, the Broadcom “BCM7038” chip-set family and the Broadcom “BCM7411.”
“Together, NDS and Broadcom offer a very stable and efficient development platform for the OCAP market," Broadcom broadband-communications group senior director of marketing Brian Sprague said in a prepared statement. "Our collective effort means that both cable operators and [consumer-electronics] manufacturers will be able to bring their products and solutions to customers much more quickly.”
