Broadstream Gets Scripps Nets Fare

Content from Scripps Networks is now available through Broadstream Communications Inc.’s “IPTVConnect” Internet-protocol-TV content-distribution platform under terms of an agreement announced Monday.

Broadstream can now offer fare from Home & Garden Television, Food Network, Do It Yourself, Fine Living and Great American Country to telecommunications companies and broadband-service providers.

“This agreement with Broadstream extends the reach of Scripps programming into new and compelling markets, such as IPTV," Scripps Networks executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing John Baird said in a prepared statement. "We are pleased to enter into this emerging market with an industry leader such as Broadstream and to provide IPTV subscribers with our unique brand of lifestyle programming.”

In other Broadstream news, the company announced that Converged Communications LLC will use it to provide outsourced MPEG-4 (Moving Picture Expert Group) IP headend, transport and middleware services to support its launch of IPTV over its ADSL2+ (asymmetrical digital subscriber line) and fiber-to-the-home network in Anchorage, Alaska.
