Tom Brokaw will host a special immediately following Discovery Channel film The Flight That Fought Back Sept. 11.
The network said Brokaw will focus on the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and interview George Clooney, one of the organizers of the America: A Tribute to Heroes telethon, as well as families of passengers on United Airlines Flight 93, which was hijacked and rerouted toward Washington, D.C., then crashed in Somerset County, Pa., Sept. 11, 2001.
Golden Globe Award-winning actor Kiefer Sutherland will narrate The Flight That Fought Back, a special tribute film chronicling the heroism of the 33 passengers and seven crew members on Flight 93.
The Flight That Fought Back “retells the plane's final moments as those on board fought to regain control of the aircraft, including rarely heard voice recordings and personal reflections of family and friends, and it details how 40 strangers discovered the terrorists’ scheme, devised a plan to respond and stopped the deadly plot, all in just 30 minutes,” Discovery said.
The network will premiere The Flight That Fought Back Sunday, Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. (EST/PST).
