The Boston Bruins, looking to complete a comeback from a 3-1 deficit against the Carolina Hurricanes, also enter tonight's Game 7 of the second-round NHL playoff series with Nielsen momentum.
Game 6 on March 12 netted a 10.2 household rating in the Boston DMA, making the contest NESN's second-highest Bruins game rating for the club in the RSN's 25-year history. The game only trailed NESN's coverage of the 2004 Eastern Conference quarterfinal Game 7, which posted an 11.2, according to network officials.
NESN's ratings in the key demographic categories also established benchmarks, including an 11.4 among men 25 to 54 and an 8.6 against adults 25 to 54. Game 6's men 25-to-54 demo rating was first in the Boston DMA Tuesday night, while its adult 25-to-54 rating was second in the market only to American Idol.
NESN will deliver regionally exclusive coverage of game 7 from TD Banknorth Garden on Thursday, May 14 at 8 p.m., with national carrier Versus cutting to the action during stoppages within its coverage of the seventh game between the Detroit Red Wings-Anaheim Duck series.
