BT Inks Cartoon for Broadband Service

Cartoon Network will provide content for a broadband-TV service BT Group plc plans to launch in the United Kingdom later this year, Reuters reported.

BT already had deals in place with National Geographic, HIT Entertainment Ltd., Nelvana Ltd., Paramount, Warner Music Group and BBC Worldwide.

BT’s service, set to launch in August, will combine its “Freeview” digital platform with selected content available on-demand and delivered over a high-speed-Internet connection on Microsoft Corp.'s software platform, through a set-top box made by Philips Consumer Electronics Co., according to Reuters.
