BTN2GO Kicks Off With Four Distributors

BTN has kicked off its version of a "TV Everywhere" service to authorized video subscribers of four key distributors.
A live simulcast of the sports service, a "beta" edition of BTN2GO launched Sept. 1 for subscribers of Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications, DirecTV and Dish Network, according to a spokeswoman for the network,
The debut of the service, initially available to the distributors' video customers online, comes in time for the BTN's coverage of six football games during the first weekend of the college football season, starting Friday with Youngstown State versus Michigan State. There are five games on Saturday - three in the noon window (ET) and a pair at 3:30 p.m.
BTN2GO, which also presents original and studio programming, serves up streams of all of the games, a valuable video asset in some markets. where providers don't have a spill-over service to accommodate additional games when contests are airing simultaneously.
Later this month, the product, which is still being tweaked, is expected to be made available via iPhones and iPads. Down the road, devices driven by Android-operating systems will also join BTN2GO's roster.
