'Burn Notice,' 'Royal Pains' Wave Goodbye To Summer With Strong Nielsens

Two of USA Network's marquee original series ended their summer seasons in fine Nielsen fettle.
Spy series Burn Notice finished its fourth summer by averaging 6.3 million watchers on Aug. 26, according to Nielsen same-day data. That total included 2.7 million persons 18 to 49, its best count with the demo in 2010. It also pulled in 2.8 million persons 25 to 54 and 1.3 million persons 18 to 34. The Jeffrey Donovan-starrer will return with the conclusion of its fourth campaign, beginning with fresh installments in November.
Lead-out Royal Pains also closed up shop for the summer on a high note. The Hamptons concierge doctor series, headed by Mark Feuerstein, netted season highs, relative to total viewers (6.1 million), adults 25 to 54 (2.7 million) and persons 18 to 49 (2.4 million) in the 10 p.m. hour.

Moreover, Royal Pains, which is scheduled to return to the characters network's air in January and conclude its sophomore campaign, drew more than 1 million persons 18 to 34 for the second time.
