Fox News Channel scored big with its airing of the first part of Bill O’Reilly’s interview with President Bush Monday night.
The O’Reilly Factor averaged a 3.7 household rating and nearly 4.6 million viewers from 8 p.m.-9 p.m., according to Nielsen Media Research data. That was almost twice the show’s third-quarter average of 2.39 million viewers.
When the Bush interview was presented over the first 10 minutes, Factor garnered some 4.7 million viewers, so most viewers remained for the balance of the show.
All told, the Bush interview helped to push Fox News to a 2.5 mark in primetime Sept. 27.
The show will feature segments from O’Reilly’s exclusive interview with the president Sept. 28 and 29, as well.
