Buzztime Adds Single-Player Games

Interactive-TV provider Buzztime Entertainment Inc. said Monday that its new single-player games package is now available in three Susquehanna Communications systems and in Time Warner Cable’s Portland, Maine, system.

The SusCom systems are in York and Williamsport, Pa., and Brunswick, Maine.

The first six single-player titles deployed are “Poker,” “Checkers,” “Hexagone,” “Jungle-Bop,” “Memory” and “Solitaire.”

Like the Buzztime Trivia Channel, the single-player games are provided free-of-charge by cable operators to their digital-cable customers.

Buzztime, a unit of NTN Communications Inc., has an inventory of more than 50 additional single-player games to add to its interactive-TV offering. Two more Buzztime "multiplayer" games -- “Buzztime Texas Hold'em” and “Buzztime Billiards” -- are being considered by cable operators for potential installations, the vendor said.

The new multiplayer games feature a new wrinkle for Buzztime -- allowing players from all Buzztime affiliate systems to compete against other players in real-time virtual game rooms.
