Cable, EchoStar Vet Margit Tritt Joins Edgeware

Margit Tritt, a cable and pay-TV industry vet who was recently with Vubiquity and EchoStar Technologies, has been named director of business development, North American cable, at Edgeware, a maker of video server and processing systems for video-on-demand, network DVR and OTT applications and services.

In this role, Tritt will identify next-gen cable and broadband TV opportunities in the North American region for Stockholm, Sweden-based Edgeware.

Tritt, most recently with Woomera Group, has also held tech and operations roles at Vubiquity, EchoStar Technologies, CableLabs, ILOG and AVS. She also served seven years in the USAF as a field application engineer and crew chief on IBM mainframe computer systems.

“Our major focus is on the North American cable market and how we can help operators provide advanced services to their subscribers without extensive network upgrades,” said Joachim Roos, CEO of Edgeware, in a statement. “Tritt’s extensive experience in the cable market, along with Edgeware’s innovative technologies, will enable operators to provide subscribers with the latest services.”

Tritt received a Masters of Science in engineering management from the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Engineering and a Bachelors of Science in applied mathematics, computer science from the Metropolitan State University of Denver.
