Cable Hall of Fame Ceremony Set for April 4 in NYC

The Cable Center says event will be at Ziegfeld Ballroom at least through 2020

The 2018 Cable Hall of Fame celebration will be held on April 4 in New York City at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, the first time the event will be staged in New York, The Cable Center said.

The venue, in the former Ziegfeld Theater building, is opening this fall, and The Cable Center said it will be the site of the Cable Hall of Fame festivities annually at least through 2020. The ceremony used to move yearly based on where the NCTA's annual convention was held. (MCN's Wonder Women celebratory luncheon also will be held there, on March 22, 2018.)

The 2018 Cable Hall of Fame class will be named in early October, the center said.

“Start spreading the news. I couldn’t be more excited that the Cable Hall of Fame is moving to the Ziegfeld Ballroom which has been home to great entertainment in the heart of New York City,” Michael Willner, president and CEO of Penthera Partners and chairman of The Cable Center’s board of directors, said in a statement. “The Cable Hall of Fame will continue that tradition. What better place to honor cable and media’s finest!”

The Cable Center CEO Jana L. Henthorn added, “Coming off an extremely successful 20th celebration in 2017, I am confident in the future growth of the Cable Hall of Fame and The Center’s role in honoring industry luminaries for many years to come.”

Since 1998, 127 honorees have been inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame.
