Poker programming continues to heat up.
Fox Sports Net will provide Thanksgiving noshers not interested in National Football League fare with a Turkey Day TV alternative with six one-hour installments of the Showdown at the Sands from 12:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. local time Nov. 27.
FSN will turn around the tourney from Atlantic City, N.J. -- with the winner pocketing $1 million -- less than 24 hours after it plays out at the casino, with the aid of 21 cameras and tape machines and one-dozen replay machines.
The Travel Channel will proffer The World Poker Tour Ladies Night Dec. 10 from 9 p.m.-11 p.m. The show will feature six women battling for chips and cash, five of whom competed on The World Poker Tour, which has become a signature series for the Discovery Networks U.S. service.
Come Super Bowl Sunday, the "Peacock" network will jump into the growing arena, which also includes regular programming on ESPN, in concert with Travel.
From 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Feb. 1, the broadcaster will air NBC Sports Presents The Travel Channel World Poker Tour Battle of Champions, featuring the champions from that tournament series' 13 events.
