Cable One Inc. will use BigBand Networks Inc.’s “BMR (Broadband Multimedia- Service Router)” to manage its digital-television offerings, the vendor said Tuesday.
The MSO is deploying BMRs in 42 systems to control channel lineups, video quality and bandwidth efficiency for both standard-definition and HD fare.
“The BigBand BMR enables rich digital-television experiences by greatly increasing the quantity, quality and functionality of Cable One's standard- and high-definition digital programming, and the platform's scalability and programmability assure further advances in the services we provide,” Cable One vice president of digital services and technology Stephen Fox said in a prepared statement.
