Cable To Return To New Orleans In Fall 2010

The beads will be coming back out: The cable industry's weeklong conglomeration of events in fall 2010 is scheduled to take place in New Orleans.

Set for the week of Oct. 17, Cable Connection Fall 2010, organized under the aegis of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, is to comprise the CTAM Summit, SCTE's Cable-Tec Expo, the NAMIC Annual Conference, the Kaitz Annual Dinner and other events.

On the NCTA's Web site, the CTAM Summit 2010 is listed as taking place Oct. 17-19 at the New Orleans Convention Center.

NCTA director of media relations Joy Sims confirmed that New Orleans will be the expected host city and said dates and additional information for Cable Connection Fall 2010 will be announced later in June.

The NCTA's Cable Show 2008 was held in the Big Easy, a return for the industry after Hurricane Katrina disrupted plans for the annual confab in the city in 2006.

This year's fall cable events will take place Oct. 25-30 in Denver, while the spring 2010 events, highlighted by NCTA's Cable Show,  are set for Los Angeles the week of May 10.

The NCTA led the consolidation of industry events into the two annual weeklong clusters, citing a need to better manage schedules and resources.
