Cable, Satellite Vet O’Brien to Gotuit

Daniel O'Brien has joined Gotuit Media Corp. as chairman and CEO.

O'Brien most recently had been CEO of Brief Original Broadcasts, which he founded. Prior to BOB, he served as CEO of High Speed Access Corp. And before HSA, he was president and chief operating officer of direct-broadcast satellite service PrimeStar Inc., which was acquired by rival DirecTV Inc.

Gotuit's flagship product, “Gotuit On Demand,” is a patented navigation platform that combines segment metadata with on-demand video content, allowing digital-cable subscribers to personalize their viewing experience.

"Dan O'Brien has one of the most impressive track records in the cable and satellite industry and has proven his ability to lead companies to achieve record-setting growth and success," Gotuit president Mark Pascarella said in a prepared statement.

"With Dan's stature and respect in this market and extensive experience on both the operations and programming side of the business, he is the ideal person to help grow our business with our existing customers and create new opportunities as we look to extend our reach into new markets,” he added.

“Gotuit's combination of technology, services and programming has proven to increase consumer usage of and satisfaction with VOD [video-on-demand] and will help operators to gain new sources of revenue and reduce churn,” O’Brien said in a prepared statement.

“I look forward to further developing customized applications for the operator and programmer communities to create compelling on-demand experiences,” he added.
