Cable Sets NYC Spring Fling

Cablers will have another weeklong series of industry events to attend next
spring, when Cable Positive and Women in Cable & Telecommunications meld
their respective conferences and events together in New York.

Taking a cue from Diversity Week, Cable Positive will stage its annual
fund-raising dinner and WICT its annual three-day industry Leadership Forum
during the week of March 30-April 2 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel,
representatives from both organizations said.

Other events scheduled during that week include a Horowitz Associates Inc.
breakfast seminar and a WICT New York chapter "Wonder Women" luncheon, the
latter sponsored by Reed Business Information, owner of Multichannel

Cable Positive president and CEO Steve Villano said the new setup offers
greater value and convenience to the organization’s supporters.

WICT president Benita Fitzgerald Mosley said her group’s three-day WICT Forum
-- which drew more than 325 attendees this past June in Orlando, Fla. -- will
benefit from having major industry executives in town for the other events.

"We can really take advantage of having the great executives who have either
lived in New York or will take advantage of other events," she added.

Mosley said the spring cable gathering could be extended beyond 2004 if it’s

"We’ll know before the event actually happens whether it’s potentially good
for everybody," she added. "We want to have an opportunity to capitalize in 2005
and beyond."
