SeaChange International and TVN Entertainment announced a joint initiative that will allow cable MSOs to insert ads into video-on-demand streams on the fly.
The companies said they will begin testing and integration of TVN's Adoniss platform with SeaChange's AdPulse On Demand systems to place ads marked according to the SCTE-35 ad-break standard into VOD programs. The service will be available to TVN's 200-plus content partners.
Through the partnership, TVN will begin volume distribution of "ad-insertable" VOD assets, which can be ingested by cable operator customers that have deployed SeaChange's AdPulse dynamic VOD ad-insertion software.
"We will demonstrate conclusively that every VOD asset can be optimized for targeted messaging from end-to-end," SeaChange vice president of product marketing Alan Hoff said.
