Tandberg Television this week will show off what the company is claiming will be the industry's first demo of dynamic ad insertion and ad swapping into time-shifted program streams.
The vendor's demonstration combines the Xport Time-Shifted TV solution for network-based digital video recorder services with its AdPoint Advanced Advertising Platform.
The solution combines network-DVR services with ad-targeting that can be set up according to ZIP code, geographic region, demographic profile, time of day or based on type of content.
"You can put together some complicated targeted-ad campaigns," said Andrew Rowe, Tandberg's vice president of software product management.
Xport TSTV, which Tandberg said will be available this summer, provides rights-management features with broadcast-TV capture. The solution supports both SCTE 35 and SCTE 130 standards for ad insertion.
Using Xport TSTV, operators can either specify rights management in a single location or use a distributed model to provide local management of recording schedules and real-time capture of broadcast streams.
Also this week, Tandberg will introduce the WatchPoint Content Management System, which the company said is designed to centrally manage any metadata format, content type and workflow process.
File-based content stored in the CMS may include VOD programs, advertising, music and games. The WatchPoint CMS can automate customized content processing via a rules-management interface and extensible workflow.
The Linux-based CMS software will be shipping this summer, Rowe said.
