Cable Show 2011: Outdoor Channel HD Now In 10 Million Homes

Chicago -- Outdoor Channel continues its expansion, netting more launches with Comcast, while surpassing the 10 million mark with high-definition subscribers.
With rollouts on Charter Communications' system in the Reno market as part of its Sports Tier and Cox Communications' systems in Las Vegas and Omaha as part of the Digital Plus Pak, Outdoor Channel HD now reaches more than 10 million U.S. homes. Debuting three years ago, the service, in addition to Charter and Cox, has launched on 198 new cable systems since January, including those owned by Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, Suddenlink Communications, Knology and Comcast.
Relative to the latter, Outdoor Channel HD launched June 8 in Michigan on Comcast's Digital Preferred HD tier on Channel 709. The network's linear channel is also available on Channel 730 throughout the region.
Next up: Outdoor Channel will be added to Comcast's Digital Preferred tier in the Chicagoland area, beginning in August. Viewers on Comcast systems in Greater Chicago, as well as those in Champaign/Springfield/Decatur; Peoria/Bloomington; Quincy/Hannibal/Keokuk; Rockford; and South Bend/Elkhart, Indiana will now have greater access to Outdoor Channel's popular, high quality hunting, fishing, shooting and adventure programming.
