Sportsman Channel's "Hunt.Fish.Feed. initiative" will be providing food for the needy in three spots in Chicago next Monday.
The network's longtime outreach program is partnering locally with Cable Show 2011, with numerous show attendees, local and state officials aiding in the volunteer efforts that will see donated game meat and fish from local sportsmen distributed to the hungry. This marks the fourth time Sportsman has engaged with this effort in conjunction with the Cable Show.
During the course of 2011, Hunt. Fish. Feed. will make donations at 11 cities, but the June 13 effort in DC marks the first time Sportsman, which is partnering with Mule Deer Foundation in the area, will proffer dinner -- served from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. -- at three locales simultaneously.
The three stops: A Just Harvest, Humboldt Park Social Services and Cornerstone Community Outreach, where Sportsman organized an event in 2010
"We're excited to bring our Hunt.Fish.Feed. initiative to the Chicago community once again," said Todd Hansen, COO and founder of the Hunt.Fish.Feed program for Sportsman Channel in a statement. "Hunt.Fish.Feed. provides thousands of people nationwide with nutrient-rich game meat and fish, and we have served many thousands of meals since our inception. This is the first time we've provided meals for three shelters at once, but both we and the cable community want to feed as many Chicago residents as possible."
