Cable TV Pioneers Names Class of 2007

The Cable TV Pioneers selected its class of 2007, which will be inducted May 7 at a banquet held during The Cable Show in Las Vegas.

This year’s class, which features executives who have worked for at least 20 years in the industry, is comprised of:

• Bresnan Communications president and chief financial officer Jeffrey DeMond;

• Michael Doyle, president, Comcast Eastern division;

• Bradley Dusto, president, Comcast West division;

• Michael Egan, founder and executive vice president, Renaissance Media;

• HBO area account manager Debby Exon;

• Ideas & Solutions president and founder Glen Friedman;

• Lindsay Gardner, outgoing president, affiliate sales and marketing, Fox Cable Networks;

• New Wave Communications president and CEO James Gleason;

• Time Warner Cable executive VP Bill Goetz;

• Bob Gold & Associates president and owner Bob Gold;

RCH Outsourcing Services CEO Robert Halgas;

• Ivan Johnson, VP of community relations, Cox Communications;

• Charles McGinty, Edward McGinty and Robert McGinty, the brothers who built Atlantic Coast Cable in southern New Jersey;

• Neil McHugh, CEO, Vista III Media;

• Cox VP of video-product development Steve Necessary;

• Larry Oliver, VP and general manger, Reed Television Group (parent of Multichannel News);

• Starz Entertainment senior VP of corporate communications Thomas Southwick;

• Katheryn Lynn Svoboda, VP, internal operations, National Cable Television Cooperative;

• BendBroadband CEO Amy Tykeson;

• Donald Tykeson, Tykeson Associates/Enterprises;

• Time Warner Cable VP of network architecture Louis Williamson; and

• National Cable & Telecommunications Association senior VP of industry affairs Barbara York.

The Cable TV Pioneers said the new class will be inducted at its 41st annual banquet, which will be held May 7 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas.
