Cable Television Laboratories Inc.’s certification wave 30 was a tidal wave.
The cable industry’s engineering consortium announced the certification of several products Monday.
Cable modems from Motorola Broadband Communications Sector and Terayon Communication Systems Inc. received Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification 2.0- and DOCSIS 1.1-certified status, and a DOCSIS 1.1 modem from Electroline Equipment Inc. was recertified.
As for CableHome 1.1 -- which allows for the distribution of broadband service throughout a consumer's home -- devices from D-Link Systems Inc. and Thomson Consumer Electronics passed CableLabs’ muster.
CableLabs also awarded PacketCable certification status to four embedded multimedia-terminal adapters: two from Cisco Systems Inc.’s Linksys unit and one apiece from Ambit Microsystems Corp. and Scientific-Atlanta Inc.
