Cable Television Laboratories Inc. said Tuesday that it has expanded its development-laboratory facilities.
The cable industry’s research-and-development group said the move was made in order to accelerate product development for devices that will interoperate under the Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification, PacketCable and CableHome specifications.
“The manufacturing community developing DOCSIS, PacketCable and CableHome products has been asking for this kind of support from CableLabs for some time,” senior vice president of broadband access Ralph Brown said in a prepared statement.
Lab uses include identifying and resolving bugs; interoperability testing; new product development; and troubleshooting, CableLabs said.
CableLabs moved to its new 77,000-square-foot building in Louisville, Colo., in January.
