The Twitterverse will serve as the virtual venue for a cable technology discussion to be hosted by CableLabs and Multichannel News on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. (ET).
The hour-long chat, moderated by Multichannel News technology editor Jeff Baumgartner, will feature insight and commentary from CableLabs president and CEO Phil McKinney, who took the helm of the non-profit research and development consortium last June.
This first-ever Twitter chat hosted by CableLabs and Multichannel News will focus on the topics of Ultra HD/4K video and next-generation cable service delivery.
Twitter users can ask questions, weigh in, and track the action using the #CableChat hashtag, and follow the group on Twitter: Phil McKinney (@philmckinney); CableLabs (@CableLabs); Multichannel News (@MultiNews); and Jeff Baumgartner (@thebauminator).
Here are some suggested tips and guidelines for the Twitter chat:
- Introduce yourself with your first #CableChat tweet. Include your name, job title and organization you work for.
- In subsequent tweets, please start with the question number you are responding to and include the #CableChat hashtag. For example: "@johnsmith Q6 I see the future of cable looking like…#CableChat”
- Please don't pitch products or services; stay focused on the discussion topics.
- Please keep the discussion professional, but informal.
