Cisco Systems Inc. said Cable Television Laboratories Inc. has accepted three
of its products for its PacketCable Advanced Interoperability Test Network.

Specifically, CableLabs will install Cisco's Data Over Cable Service
Interface Specification 1.1-qualified 'uBR7246VXR' cable-modem-termination
system/router, 'AS5350' media gateway and 'CSRC/BPR' provisioning server on its
Louisville, Colo.-based test network.

That equipment will facilitate the testing of components submitted for
PacketCable certification and qualification, Cisco said.

PacketCable -- the underpinning of which is DOCSIS 1.1 -- defines a broadband
architecture for Internet-protocol-based services ranging from telephony to
multimedia audio and video.

In addition to CMTS gear, media gateways and provisioning servers, other
PacketCable network components include multimedia-terminal adapters,
call-management servers and record-keeping servers.
