Cablevision to Launch AtomTelevision


Cablevision Systems Corp. later this year will offer content from upstart
cable network AtomTelevision as part of the MSO's iO: Interactive Optimum
digital-cable service.

Cablevision iO subscribers will have access over a
24-hour period to exclusive short films and animated titles from the site (

) for a price of $2.95, said representatives
from the network, which is co-owned by AtomShockwave Corp.'s AtomFilms and
Global Media Holdings.

AtomTelevision, headed by former Century Communications Corp. CEO Andrew Tow,
is also part of Comcast Corp.'s video-on-demand offerings.

"We are delighted that Cablevision has agreed to incorporate our programming
into its groundbreaking digital offering, and we look forward to demonstrating
our unique appeal," Tow said in a prepared statement.

"iO customers will be among the first television viewers in the nation to
experience our dynamic and exciting content," he added.
