Cablevision cut a deal with AnswersTV to distribute the programmer’s video-on-demand health programming to its iO: Interactive Optimum customers.
The cable TV operator said it will distribute AnswersTV Health content, including The Answered Patient series, which offers educational programming designed to help viewers diagnose symptoms and treat illnesses.
AnswersTV’s Health Channel is available across Cablevision’s entire service area on iO TV Channel 614.
“AnswersTV's expansive library of original health video content fits perfectly with our interest in providing a new source of health information for our iO Digital TV customers,” Patricia Gottesman, Cablevision executive vice president of digital marketing & commerce, said in Monday’s announcement. “After reviewing many health content choices, Cablevision chose AnswersTV for the quality of their production, their health industry experience and the range of important information they offer our customers in an interactive, easy-to-use TV format.”
The Answered Patient series is hosted by Jane Hanson, former newsreader for NBC’s Today Show. The series also features commentary and information from medical professionals.
Cablevision said additional series are planned for AnswersTV’s Health Channel, including Health Reporters and Let’s Eat, a series dedicated to healthy eating.
