Cablevision Names Donohue As SVP Technology For Local Media Group

Cablevision Systems Corp. has hired Tom Donohue as its senior vice president technology for the company's Local Media group.
In his new position, Donohue, who had been working at Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., is responsible for overseeing technology strategy and operations for the Local Media group, comprising the News 12 Networks local news services, MSG Varsity's suite of television and online services covering high school activities, and Newsday Media Group, featuring Newsday, Long Island's leading daily newspaper and amNewYork.
Donohue reports to Tad Smith, president of Cablevision's Local Media, in his new job.
"Tom is an innovative, strategic and collaborative technology executive, ideally suited to lead our group's current and future initiatives," said Smith in announcing the hire. "Tom has a well-earned reputation for creating solutions to technology challenges, and successfully leading highly motivated teams."
At HFM U.S., Donohue directed the company's IT team and budget, while managing all business applications and technology initiatives. Prior to this, he was vice president of business applications for Reed Business Information.
Before joining Reed, he spent 23 years at Syllogy Corp., which provides software solutions for technology and business needs. At Syllogy he held a number of key positions including vice president/managing director of professional services.
