Cablevision: No Data, Voice Hikes


Cablevision Systems Corp. said Thursday that standard rates will not rise for its “Optimum Online” high-speed-data and “Optimum Voice” digital-voice-over-cable services.

The MSO added that 2005 will mark the second consecutive year with no rate hikes for those services.

Cablevision ended the third quarter with more than 1.25 million Optimum Online customers and 189,000 Optimum Voice subscribers.

“We are very pleased to hold the line again this year on pricing for the best high-speed-Internet and digital-voice services in our market, Optimum Online and Optimum Voice,” Cablevision senior vice president of consumer-product management and marketing Patricia Gottesman said in a prepared statement.

“The strong growth of both services, even in the face of increased marketing by our competitors, reflects the value they represent for an expanding base of satisfied customers,” she added.
