Cablevision continues to expand its Wi-Fi hotspots, making the service available for free in one of the leading electronics chains in its footprint, P.C. Richard & Son.
Customers visiting 35 of the chain's showrooms in the New York DMA can also learn more about Optimum Wi-Fi and receive assistance in activating their Wi-Fi-enabled devices on the network. Non-Optimum Online customers can also test drive Optimum Wi-Fi by taking advantage of a free trial of the service.
Current Optimum Online customers can access Optimum Wi-Fi and activiate such enabled devices as iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry and laptop computers via a simple sign-on screen. Once a customer logs into the service by entering their Optimum ID and password, the network delivers speeds of up to 3.0 Mbps downstream and 1.5 Mbps upstream. Cablevision said its customers are using Optimum Wi-Fi to access the Internet more than 6 millions times per month, on average.
Additionally, as a part of this partnership, P.C. Richard & Son customers that are not currently Optimum Online subscribers can test Optimum Wi-Fi for free for 30 days. Customers should look for the Optimum Wi-Fi display at participating P.C. Richard & Son showrooms where customers can explore Wi-Fi-enabled devices and learn more about Optimum Wi-Fi.
