Cablevision Systems Wednesday announced the launch of Optimum Latino, a Web channel providing news, sports and entertainment content in Spanish.
The site can be accessed via Optimum Online’s consumer Web portal, Optimum.net, by following a link that appears in the right-hand column of the site.
“We’ve built the Optimum.net consumer portal to help our customers take advantage of the speed and reliability of Optimum Online by delivering the best and most relevant content, and now we’ve expanded this service to include Optimum Latino, which offers convenient access to the best Spanish-language content as well,” Amalia O’Sullivan, Cablevision’s vice president of consumer product management, said in a statement.
“Optimum Latino adds significant value for our Spanish-speaking customers, with a wide range of interesting content and features, including a rich video offering that is best viewed using Optimum Online,” she added.
Optimum Online has joined with Terra.com, a leading digital content provider for the U.S. Spanish-speaking community, to create the new Web channel.
The site features content that meets the needs and interests of the Hispanic community, covering a wide array of topics such as news, entertainment, sports, as well as the Terra TV platform, which includes 15 channels of Spanish-language video content.
The channel is refreshed every day and features international news and information like daily soccer and World Cup updates, and full coverage of events such as the Latin Grammys, Cablevision officials said.
