Cablevision Says Hola To Tele El Salvador

Cablevision has added a network aimed at Salvadorians to its Spanish-language tier.
The predominant cable operator in the New York DMA has launched Tele El Salvador on channel 228, making it available to digital customers on its iO En Espanol tier. The package, carrying a retail price of $6.95 per month, now encompasses 37 channels.
Tele El Salvador was created to serve the needs of the over 2.5 million Salvadorians living in the United States. The 24-hour channel features exclusive live coverage of news, sports and special events from that nation, giving Salvadorians the ability to connect and stay in touch with their home country.
"We are very pleased to be the first to launch this new and exciting service to our customers. El Salvadorian's represent a large portion of our Spanish speaking customer base, and now with the launch of Tele El Salvador, we can provide the unique content that they have been looking for," said Gary Schanman, Cablevision senior vice president, video product management, in a statement. "Diverse and high quality international programming is a key component to the success of iO International, and the addition of Tele El Salvador adds significant value for all of our Spanish-speaking customers."
