The City Council of Lake Elsinore, Calif., voted Tuesday night to approve a franchise for Verizon Communications Inc.’s Verizon FiOS TV service.
There will be a required second reading of the ordinance April 25, the regional Bell operating company said. Once approved, it will become effective 30 days later.
Lake Elsinore will become Verizon’s fifth California municipality, joining Beaumont and Murrieta, where FiOS TV launched earlier this year, and Hermosa Beach and Apple Valley, where the service will be available in the near future.
Verizon also launched FiOS TV in its third Massachusetts town Wednesday.
Lynnfield, a community of 11,500 north of Boston, joins Woburn and Reading on the regional Bell operating company’s video-service list.
FiOS TV is also available in markets in Texas, New York, Florida, Maryland and Virginia.
