Veteran CNN political anchor Candy Crowley is leaving CNN, network president Jeff Zucker announced in a staff memo Friday.
Crowley, who hosted the network’s Sunday morning State Of The Union news/public affairs program, has been with the network since 1987. It is unclear who will take over her position.
In 2012 Crowley moderated a presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, the first woman to do so in 20 years.
In the memo Zucker called Crowley one of the “most important and impactful journalists” at CNN.
