Canelo Alvarez KO's Amir Kahn

Canelo Alvarez took another step toward seizing the pound-for-pound pay-per-view boxing championship with a devastating knockout win over Amir Kahn in last night’s PPV boxing match.

The middleweight champion started slowly against the fast punching and quick moving Kahn, but would eventually catch Kahn with a powerful right hand that knocked out the former two-time champion in the sixth round.

The win sets up a potential mega fall PPV middleweight unification fight between Alvarez and  undefeated middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, who was at ringside during the fight.

Alvarez is arguably the sport’s biggest PPV draw now that Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have retired. Alvarez’ November PPV bout against Miguel Cotto drew more than 900,000 buys.
