Jeff Carr has been promoted CEO of VoIP provider SinglePipe and cable and telecom veteran Cynthia Carpenter has come in as president and COO, the company said.
Matt Phillips, who had been CEO, shifts to vice chairman of corporate development in what was termed a strategic restructuring to support a market and product expansion. In April, SinglePipe raised $5.1 million in equity funding, led by existing investor Chrysalis Ventures and also involving Meritus Ventures and the Kentucky Science and Technology Corp.
George Tronsrue, the firm's executive chairman, said in a release: "Jeff brings proven business acumen to the leadership team, and we are confident that he will leverage his technology and business experience to accelerate the company's growth. Further, we are grateful for Matt's contributions in establishing the company as a premier provider of services for mid-tier cable operators. We are pleased that he will continue with the company to further its development focusing on strategic partnerships and potential acquisitions in this space."
Carr, who joined in 2008 as COO, was a partner in Accenture's Global Technology Consulting practice. Before that he was COO of ZoomTown, a Cincinnati Bell unit that provides Internet and data services to consumers and businesses.
As COO, Carpenter has responsibility for sales, marketing, product management and customer operations. Before this, she was founder and president of Wheelhouse Strategies, a strategic marketing consultancy targeting venture-backed startup technology companies. Before that she had marketing and operations positions at Level 3 Communications, Cablevision Systems, High Speed Access Corp., Time Warner Cable and Starz Encore Group.
"Cynthia's experience in both cable and telecommunications operations and marketing makes her uniquely qualified to lead SinglePipe's further development of value-rich product and service packages for our customers," Carr said in the release. "We're pleased to add her considerable expertise to the team."
SinglePipe, of Louisville, Ky., is a managed services provider that assists private and independent cable operators, Internet service providers, CLECs, interconnects and other technology service providers to deliver digital voice solutions.
