Rainbow Media Holdings LLC bolstered the executive teams of Mag Rack and sportskool, appointing Kate Carr as vice president of marketing and hiring Phil Summers to head up integrated sales.
Carr, in her new role, is responsible for creating and implementing marketing strategies for both Mag Rack, the on-demand network, and sportskool, the sports-instruction service. She will supervise all aspects of brand positioning, consumer and trade advertising, event marketing and promotions for both networks, as well as creating strategic alliances with other content and technology partners.
Prior to her new job, Carr was VP of marketing for World Picks, Rainbow’s provider of in-language, international on-demand TV services.
In his new post, Summers will oversee and direct all nonaffiliate revenue-generating activities for both Mag Rack and sportskool, including advertising sales, sponsorship initiatives, product placements and merchandising.
Before joining Rainbow, Summers was senior director of sports marketing at Sirius Satellite Radio. Previously, he was senior director, marketing and sales at the National Football League.
