Cartoon Network hopes to continue its Monday night ratings success by ordering new seasons of animated series Adventure Time, Regular Show and MAD.
Adventure Time, which follows the exploits of unlikely heroes Finn and Jake within the mystical world of Ooo, will return for a third season after experiencing an 88% year-to-year ratings growth among the network's core boys 6 to 11 demo as well as double-digit increases among Boys 2-11, and 9-14, according to the network.
Freshman series Regular Show - which follows the lives of a six-foot-tall blue jay and a hyperactive raccoon - averaged ratings increases in the time period among kids 6-11 (52%), kids 2-11 (41%) and kids 9-14 ratings (58%), said Cartoon.
MAD, based on the popular comic magazine, will return for a second season after consistently winning its time slot with boys 6-11 and boys 9-14.
"Each of these shows bring a distinct comedic point of view and are led by a great new group of talented animators and storytellers," said Cartoon Network chief content officer Rob Sorcher in a statement. "It's wonderful to see how quickly our audience has responded to these unique cartoons, and made Cartoon Network the place to be on Monday nights."
