Cartoon Network's first-ever CG-animated original movie burned up the ratings charts Monday night.

The film, Firestarter, averaged 3.6 million viewers and, more importantly for the kids-targeted network, drew more than 1 million viewers each among kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and kids 9-14.

The movie, which follows the life of a teenage boy who struggles to find his place as half-human and half fire-breathing dragon, ranks as the second most-watched telecast of the year among targeted viewers, behind the Oct. 15 original presentation of Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster, said the network.

Firestarter also helped Cartoon Network post double digit audience gains compared to the previous week among its target boys 6-11 (up 82%), boys 9-14 (up 162%) and boys 12-17 (up 522%) demos, according to network officials.
