Cartoon Orders More Rounds of Foster’s

Just six weeks into its rookie campaign, Cartoon Network has ordered two more seasons of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.

The order for an additional 26 episodes, combined with Cartoon’s original call, will push Foster’s Home through to third and fourth seasons with a total of 52 installments, Cartoon Network Worldwide executive vice president and general manager Jim Samples said.

The series -- from Craig McCracken, creator of Emmy Award-winning The Powerpuff Girls --has generated top ratings and delivery numbers among key kids’ demos in its Friday 7 p.m. time slot since its Aug. 13 premiere, according to Cartoon officials.
