Cartoon Takes Class of 3000 Multiplatform

Cartoon Network will promote the launch of Class of 3000, the music-driven animated comedy from André “3000” Benjamin (OutKast) and Tom Lynch (Romeo!), with a cross-platform initiative.

Class of 3000 debuts on the linear network Friday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m.

The network launched a Web site dedicated to the series (www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/promotion_landing_page/classof3000/index.html), which will offer instant-messenger icons, wallpapers, a complete episode guide, programming information, activities, downloadable content and links to streaming behind-the-scenes video and full-length episodes.

In addition, online activity the Class of 3000 Funk Box will allow kids to create their own songs by dragging numerous musical samples onto tracks and hearing them played back.

Full-length episodes of Class of 3000 will be available via major cable operators’ video-on-demand services starting immediately after its Nov. 3 premiere.

Cartoon Network New Media is developing a series of podcasts available for free download via Class of 3000.com.

And minute-long video clips of Class of 3000 will be available from major wireless-phone carriers beginning Oct. 30.
