Cartoon Network Enterprises, the global merchandising and licensing arm of Cartoon Network, inked a long-term portfolio deal with Hallmark Cards.
Under the agreement, Hallmark will have exclusive licensing rights in the United States and Canada for a wide range of everyday and seasonal social-expression products, including greeting cards and party-supply items. Hallmark this year will begin offering social-expression products based on Cartoon’s current hit series, as well as other properties, for kids aged 6-11.
“Kids today want to be able to share their favorite brands with friends and family,” CNE vice president of consumer products Christina Miller said in a prepared statement. “Our partnership with Hallmark will pave the way for our portfolio of Cartoon Network original series in this critical category of social-expression products. It will also give our fans the opportunity to use the humor, action and tone of the shows they love in everything from their celebrations to their personal expressions.”
CNE currently offers consumer-product programs for an array of marquee animation franchises including Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls, Ed, Edd and Eddy, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, My Gym Partner Is a Monkey,CampLazlo, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, its Adult Swim block and more.
